Before starting therapy many of my clients experience intense feelings of daily anxiety, uncertainty, or trapped in internal “problem solving”. They often occupy themselves constantly to avoid confronting their looming anxiety attacks or depressive episodes. They desire deeper connections in their relationships but struggle with either withdrawing or reacting impulsively when they're hurt. Many find themselves trapped in a pattern of perpetual caretaking, neglecting their own needs. They long to express themselves genuinely in their relationships but find themselves unsure of how to do so.

Trauma & EMDR

The persistent reliving of traumatic memories can lead to overwhelming emotional distress and a sense of being stuck in the past. Traditional therapies may not effectively address these deeply ingrained responses. EMDR is a compelling option due to its targeted approach in reprocessing traumatic memories and alleviating associated symptoms.

Unlike other trauma approaches, EMDR does not require homework, or in depth talk or exploration about the trauma making it more appealing for those who struggle to discuss or talk in detail about what happend.

Clients often report feeling a profound shift in their emotional well-being after engaging in EMDR therapy to address severe trauma. It's as if a heavy burden has been lifted, allowing them to rediscover a sense of inner calm and resilience they thought they had lost forever.

Emotionally Focused

"Emotion" comes from the Latin "emovere," meaning "to move," much like how our five senses help us interact with our surroundings by conveying important messages—such as pain from touching a hot stove. Similarly, emotions offer crucial insights into our inner world, prompting reactions like withdrawal, shutdown, or even angry outbursts, akin to instinctively pulling back from physical harm.

Together we will explore, make sense and organize these reactions. As we do this the moves not only become more clear but you will experince them in a new, healthier way enabling you to respond in new ways in your personal life.
